Anyway, if you'd asked me when I was young if I'd plan on being a writer, I'd have laughed at you. I was going to SING! Who knew then that I would write children's stories, songs. reviews, articles, blogs, and class curriculems, among other things.

She said to me "I know it's a badge of honor to have a drawer full of rejection letters from publishing companies, but I just don't know if I can take that rejection."

Posted June 4th, 2009 by NancyWhile it's true there isn't much on our forum at the moment, it's also true that the more people use it, the more contacts you can make. And lets face it, contacts - though not the only important aspect of business - are seriously helpful. They can get your foot in the door and not on the bottom of a slush pile. You could meet an illustrator that really "gets" your work (be it story or CD cover), a songwriter for much needed songs, a poet to put lyrics to your melodies, musicians to put melodies to your poems, writer who sees your illustrations and writes a story around them. Did I miss anyone?

I ran in to some old acquaintances and did some catching up. When Irene asked me about what I was up to I told her about Mama Bear Productions. She listened intently, but I thought she was just being polite. As it turns out, though she is polite, she was listening with real interest.
