We Love Sea Shanties!

Quite some time ago, Jolene wrote that we love cowboy songs (and we do!) and offered a reward to the first person to do a cool, original cowboy song with yodeling!

Interestingly many of our customers are interested in Ben Tassinari's sea shanties. Sea shanties (or chanteys) are shipboard working songs. Not only did singing these songs make the toil of running a ship before steam power more pleasant, it also served to synchronize the efforts of the sailors.

For the record, Ben was a childhood friend of Jolene's husband - which is how Mama Bear Productions came to selling his CD. Also, the profits go to the Guided Discovery's Tall Ship Summer program in Ben's name.

Now you might be asking yourself why I'm bothering telling you so. The reason is this: While it's true we LOVE cowboy songs, it is equally true that we LOVE sea shanties, SO, I'm offering the same reward for any children's music artist to come up with an album of original children's sea shanties...
