OK - What's cooler than doing your own card tricks. Come on! You and I both know you love 'em. It's a very inexpensive hobby and one that is universally adored. For children and adults alike - get ready to be the life of the next party.
Recently I posted something on the forum regarding Rhyming Dictionaries (did you see it?). Anyway, if you'd asked me when I was young if I'd plan on being a writer, I'd have laughed at you. I was going to SING! Who knew then that I would write children's stories, songs. reviews, articles, blogs, and class curriculems, among other things.
When we first got the Mama Bear Productions website up, I mean right at the start, before it was interactive, I attended a party. I ran in to some old acquaintances and did some catching up. When Irene asked me about what I was up to I told her about Mama Bear Productions. She listened intently, but I thought she was just being polite. As it turns out, though she is polite, she was listening with real interest.
Mama Bear Productions is pleased to feature children's music by Maureen Conlin of Happy Notes Music. We carry four of Maureen's children's music albums - they are pleasingly unique in their style, rhythm and instruments used. In addition to recording children's music, Maureen provides animated, entertaining, interactive and educational music and creative movement fun for young children. Visit Maureen's Shop.
Like so many folks, I’ve got a real love affair with the “Old West”. I love good westerns (books and movies), and good cowboy songs. What I’ve just realized today however is this; though there a few standards - I Ride an Old Paint, Sweet Betsy From Pike, Home on the Range - there reallly isn’t much in terms of cowboy music for kids.
One of the things we envisioned when Mama Bear was first conceived was being as family oriented as possible including offering children's work, that is to say, work done by children. Below you'll see a copy of an email I received from Jolene.
Winter is here! And in the northern states at least, translates to a cold, dark time of year. Winter is when many creatures hibernate. Bears, raccoons (kind of) woodchucks (think Feb. 2nd) - even turtles and frogs burrow down into the mud to await the warmth of spring. It’s a time to rest and rejuvenate. Deciduous trees do this well. The holiday’s are over, which means we can finally slow down, decompress, relax and do some rejuvenating our selves. So what to do during those long, cold, dark winter months?
I say this tongue in cheek – sort of. As the mother of 4 children (boys no less) there have been times I was sure I was raising animals, not children – and if I were to be truthful, I still have those moments. However, one thing I’ve found is that all my boys love music! In fact, when life gets a little chaotic if we turn music on, things usually settle down pretty quickly.
