A Word of Encouragement!

But first a story (God forbid I make anything short).  Hi, Nancy Carey Johnson here.  The other day I found myself thinking about how I've gone through a little bit of a dry spell in terms of songwriting.  I've been in various stages of @ 25-30 songs but that's where they've stayed.  I've got some great ideas, but fleshing them out, well that's another story.  And then late last week I was having one of those days -  It was wickedly HOT and sticky, I'd slept badly, and I'd put my back out so badly that I had to crawl around the floor - LITERALLY.  All of a sudden, a phrase caught my eye and started things to percolating in my head because within half an hour (1/2 hour) I had a really cute children's song written - start to finish, 3 verses, 3 different choruses.  That my friends was a gift and one that I am really grateful for!

So the word of encouragement is this:  Do NOT give up.  If you've got writers block, write through it.  Write all your ideas or at the very least write down all the things that you see that send a spark through you, because you just never know when the percolating stops and the coffee is brewed! - Nancy
