While it's true there isn't much on our forum at the moment, it's also true that the more people use it, the more contacts you can make. And lets face it, contacts - though not the only important aspect of business - are seriously helpful. They can get your foot in the door and not on the bottom of a slush pile. You could meet an illustrator that really "gets" your work (be it story or CD cover), a songwriter for much needed songs, a poet to put lyrics to your melodies, musicians to put melodies to your poems, writer who sees your illustrations and writes a story around them. Did I miss anyone?
Or how about this: A musician could read your story and write songs for it so it becomes interactive, or a Writer might hear your songs and write a Disney screenplay using your songs as the basis - hey who said I don't dream big? But why not reach for the stars. You may not touch them but what I know for sure is if you don't at least try you'll never know how they feel!
You may have something to sell, you may have a warning about a publisher, label, critic, you may want to recommend the best/cheapest printer you've found, the best places/ways to find gigs, or announce the birth of your 13th child (God Love You!).
You may make strong connections, good friends, husbands, wives, managers - or even a muse. You may even find inspirations (who can't use those from time to time?) or just need to vent. And you never know who people know. While you may be a writer you also may be a friend of the head of the Children's Music Division for Children's TV network or Disney... and what a Godsend that could be for someone. On the other hand your brother-in-law may be an editor at Penguin Press... and at the risk of repeating myself...What a Godsend that could be for someone!
We know life is hectic and busy - but, "Hey, ya never know!" It's worth 3 minutes of your time to make a comment on the forum.
